  • In 2016, Rising Above the Storms became eligible for the Cisco donation matching program. This program allows full-time Cisco employees to request donation matches for their contributions to RAS, up to $25K per year. Additionally, Cisco employees have the opportunity to submit their volunteer hours with RAS, with each hour translating to a $10 donation.

  •  In 2016, Rising Above the Storms formed a partnership with Amahoro (Peace) Builders (AB), a Rwandan NGO located in Rwanda. Together, we established the Rwanda Learning Center in January 2017, initially targeting street children but later expanding our efforts to support vulnerable children as a whole. Throughout our journey in Rwanda, AB has been an invaluable strategic partner, contributing to the significant transformation of hundreds of vulnerable children. Our work continues to rely heavily on the expertise and knowledge of AB NGO as we strive to accomplish our mission. Their invaluable contributions have been instrumental in our efforts to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children.
  • Our strategy from the beginning has been to partner with a local NGO in Rwanda who’s accustomed to the culture and regulations of the country instead of operating directly. AB has been our local partner in Rwanda since 2016 when we established

  • In November 2021, Rising Above the Storms entered a 12-month partnership with Westcon-Comstor Sub Saharan Africa.

  • Comstor distributed $16,573 USD to create a lasting impact for vulnerable children in Rwanda. The areas of coverage were:

  • Technology: Computer Lab expansion with an additional 10 laptops, IT instructor for a year, computer maintenance and internet access for a year. Education: Sponsored 10 children for one year. Girls’ Health: Sponsored Sanitary Pads for 17 girls for one year. Comstor and RAS are currently reviewing the partnership to include sponsorship and mentoring.

  • Increase street children capacity to 500 on average.
